Even if I had had less than say 200 gold in the situation described above, the AI will always have large amounts of cash. I was aware of the fact that only heroes will show up that you can afford, so I usually save up some money when I expect offers, in order to have a higher chance of getting an already levelled up hero. Well, thank you, that's some ideas, but money was surely not the problem. Does anybody know what is happening here? That would not happen if hero join offers only depended on turn number, but neither can I image that they depend on the size of your empire (see Humans above). On one turn my cursor turned to a negotiating symbol when above him, but my units did not have the movement points to reach him - and one turn later the cursor had changed back to the fighting symbol, even though race relations were still friendly and I had not got another hero in between. The Undead leader died early and now his additional starting hero is on the loose. Hero library still the same, still 5 heroes allowed per player.ĭoes anybody know how the mechanics work here? Are there other factors that I may have changed without knowing it?Īlso currently I am playing as the Goblins. The last two times I played the map nobody showed up till deep in the 30ies turns (for no player, not even for the AI controlled humans who in the last game were as strong as the next two races together), even though I did not change anything. The first times I found that a new hero would usually offer to join for every player around turn 10 to 20, the same I know from other maps. You start with your leader and one additional hero. I am currently playing a map several times with different starting races (playtesting).
